  2. Released in , Long Live Rock 'n' Roll was the final Rainbow album with Dio as he would go on to front Black Sabbath while guitarist Richie Blackmore reunited with Deep Purple. From the signature title track to "L.A. Connection" to "Kill the King," the well crafted Long Live Rock 'n' Roll is regarded as one of Rainbow's last great overall albums although commercial success would still follow.
  3. Long Live Rock N' Roll is a classic rock/metal album, with loads of catchy and fun rocking music. It's definitely stronger than the previous Rainbow release Rising, not to say that was a bad album. On the previous, there were more epic influences, while this one is more fun rock n' roll all over, except for the awesome epic Gates Of Babylon, which is in my opinion Rainbow's second best song ever.
  4. Long Live Rock 'n' Roll may be singer Ronnie James Dio's last album with Rainbow, but at least he went out on a high note. While the material is not quite as strong as on the previous studio effort, Rising, Long Live Rock 'n' Roll maintains the momentum the band had built up.8/
  5. Type: Full-length Release date: April 9th, Catalog ID: Label: Polydor Format: 12" vinyl (33⅓ RPM) Reviews: 13 reviews (avg. 87%).
  6. The only thing preventing me from giving it the maximum star rating is the final track which seems out of place on this album. "Rainbow Eyes" is a very slow track with flute and a string quartet, surely not in keeping with the title "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll".Reviews:
  7. There is no doubt about it. I guess that "Long Live Rock & Roll" is the most impressive LP by Rainbow. In addition, the album itself is still a milestone in the history of hard rock and heavy metal. In a word, the album is a masterpiece. Ronnie James Dio did his best as a frontman and a vocalist/5().
